COVID-19 Community Response

Bellingham Makerspace and lots of other local groups, businesses and individuals are making personal protective equipment. Makerspace is coordinating and distributing maker made cloth masks, face shields and procedure gowns. Local essential workers needing any of those items are encouraged to submit a request.
I'll use the comments to add resources for those that want to make stuff. Stuff you make can be dropped of at Makerspace Monday - Friday 12-5. Materials to make PPE stuff has been available, e.g. mask making kits/supplies, I'm not sure what all is currently available.

[ reply | link ] to this. Go to [ topic | top ]The most commonly made mask is the surgical style. I believe the Community Face Mask is basically the same as the popular YouTube how-to (...words and pictures version) with cloth ties currently being preferred.

[ reply | link ] to this. Go to [ topic | top ]3D printed Surgical Mask Tension Release Band for Ear Comfort & Extended Use (stl)... Apparently not exactly the same as Surgical Mask Strap Remix (stl), 89.1 VS 89.5 KB. Ear discomfort is why the PeaceHealth mask design now has ties. Thanks Josh

[ reply | link ] to this. Go to [ topic | top ]There is a local, apparently commercial*, effort between Superfeet/Flowbuilt and Pioneer Aerofab to make ~30,000 PAPR hoods.
